Electives in Nepal

Volunteer Forum Nepal is a registered non-profit organization committed to professional and personal development through excellence in experiential education. Volunteer internship programs vary from 2 to 20 weeks according to your interest. As an intern you will live with a trusted guest family close to your workplace and program fees will cover accommodation, meals and registration fees with professional organizations and facilities. 

Volunteers assist local doctors and medical practitioners in the treatment of patients, provide physical therapy, take part in vaccination programs and may participate with a variety of hospital programs such as record keeping, sanitation and nutrition. Volunteers have the option of working in either an urban or rural setting, with placements offered in Kathmandu at: Tribhuvan University’s (TU) teaching hospital in MaharajGanj Kathmandu University’s (KU) teaching Hospital Kati Children Hospital (Nepal Government Hospital) Other private/public hospitals or medical facilities in Kathmandu and/or across Nepal can also be made available.  
Application: $100.00 (covers administration and government taxes)
Accommodation: $300.00 per month (including meals, pick up at the airport and other facilities available with Nepal host family, see nepalhostfamily.com) 

Medical elective: Depending on the hospital or medical facility, there will be a fee between $25.00 to $50.00 US per week. This fee will be paid directly to the internship facility.
